In October-November 1957 New York City Transit Authority received its order for 209 TDH-5106 buses, which were numbered into 7200-7208 series. They were initially assigned to garages in Manhattan and Queens. They arrived in the dark mint green and silver gray colors and were the first buses to be delivered with push type center exit doors and pink fiberglass seats (only the driver had a soft seat). The interior color scheme was blue.
